En 2042, l’explosion de l’usine Nova Vitae Industries en Australie libère la substance BioPrisma, créant des créatures monstrueuses appelées Altéras. Face au chaos, le président autoritaire August Greyn envoie les Rangers, des soldats d’élite, pour exterminer les Altéras et restaurer l’ordre. Aedan Kael, rejeté enfant à cause de symptômes liés à la corruption Altéra, développe des pouvoirs surhumains qu’il utilise pour rejoindre les Oblitères, un groupe de rebelles brutaux cherchant à renverser le régime d'August Greyn. En conflit avec les Rangers et hanté par son passé, Aedan lutte pour un monde libéré des oppresseurs, tout en affrontant la fine ligne entre humanité et monstruosité.
