Dans un monde mystérieux où certains humains appelés "akuma" possèdent des pouvoirs surnaturels, Nozomu, un jeune garçon, voit sa vie basculer le jours de ses 16 ans. Suite à cet évènement tragique, il intègre l'école SHUGOKI, où les akumas apprennent à maîtriser leur pouvoir. Au côté de ces nouveaux amis et face à de puissants ennemis, Nozomu se lance dans une aventure extraordinaire afin de découvrir l'origine de ces pouvoirs et peut-être changer le destin des akuma.
