Elle peine à se faire une place dans cette société où, les secrets du monde sont gardés par les êtres les plus vieux : Les Doyens Suprêmes. Arrachée de force aux siens, elle est faite captive. Elle se liera d’amitié avec Lanx aspirant soldat de la Milice, qui se retrouve malgré lui complice de sa fuite. Elle devra se battre pour se faire une place dans ce monde pas comme les autres.
